Greek potato farmers - cutting out the middle man

This is what I like about people – it doesn’t matter what the incompetent government and their European Union masters inflict upon them – the people just get on with it:

KATERINI, Greece — Hammered by the financial crisis that has led to ever diminishing income, a group of residents in northern Greece have joined forces with potato farmers to slash consumer prices and ensure producers can get their crop to markets by cutting out the middle man.

I often wonder if we could get along without the whole stinking lot of ‘em.

Meanwhile the vultures are hovering.

I don’t mind paying tax, but not too much, and certainly not for the Brussels mafia to indulge their thieving, wasteful parasites.

I hope you've all had your breakfast

This is the type of thing more of us need to do. Starve the beast.

Yep Anon - buy local and avoid the big corporates where possible.

Well put BJ. I always try to buy from the small family store rather than the chains. It may cost a Pound or two more, but its important and makes me feel like I'm doing my part.
